You might feel like some of the journaling prompts are repetitive. Try to trust the process, read the prompts carefully and notice the slight differences. Week one is about helping you to process injury information from different perspectives through memory.
It’s been proven that writing about yourself can lessen stress, promote physical healing, increase general well-being, and make the achievement of your goals more likely.
Completing the Comeback Journaling tasks will help you to make sense of your past, to get to know yourself better in the present, and to map out what you want for your future.
Please note that remembering certain events does not mean that those events caused your injury. These journaling tasks are merely designed to help you to process memories of your injury experience. Acknowledging and writing about what happened when you were injured will allow you to file the experience away in your memory system without suppressing it.
Describe how your injury happened. What was the physical action that led to the injury? Include details about what you felt physically at the time of your injury.
