Long Task: Information Gathering (Part One)

Summary

The following tasks encourage you to gather information about both your injury diagnosis and expectations for your recovery journey. This will help you to re-create realistic expectations for comeback, and a revitalised sense of control over your future.

Remember, although you’re gathering general information about what you can expect during your recovery, your journey will be unique in some ways

Your Activity

Take a few days this week to gather information about your injury and recovery process. This information must include a physical diagnosis, a possible recovery time, and what you expect to experience physically and psychologically. The more factual the information, the better.

You can gather this information from your healthcare provider, medical team, or internet resources. Keep a record of everything by writing down some information you find on a piece of paper or notebook – you’ll need it for the exercise in part two.
